Cursor Built "ChatGTM", SDRs are booking 3x meetings.
← Back

GTM Insights from The GTM Studio

Greetings...

This week, a bit of tech talk worth knowing, even if you're not the technical type.

You've probably heard of an API: the plumbing that lets two pieces of software talk to each other. There's a newer cousin worth knowing about too: MCP. Think of it as giving an AI assistant like ChatGPT or Claude a set of keys, so instead of living in just one app, it can move between the tools you already use and pull them together into one answer.

Why does that matter? Because your best insights are usually scattered. Your CRM knows who your customers are. Your analytics tool knows how they behave. Normally, getting a full picture means jumping between systems, exporting spreadsheets, and stitching it together by hand.

With MCP, you can just ask. Pull customer records from your CRM, cross-reference them with behavior data in a tool like Mixpanel, and get back a single, clear answer. Example, which customers are actually profitable and why, in whatever format you need. No manual exports, no analyst required, no waiting. As a sales person, you can start to define profitable ICPs with these insights.

That's the real shift: AI assistants that don't just answer questions, but actively work across your tools to get you the answer.

Why are we talking about this. MCPs, and CLI (more on that another week), are becoming a critical solution in a sales person toolbox to understand their TAM, the messaging and the desired outcomes.

Insights....

🤖 Cursor Built "ChatGTM" and Their SDRs Are Booking 3x Meetings

George Hou, Head of Enterprise Growth at Cursor, built an internal sales AI platform for their 400+ person sales org. SDRs are booking 3x qualified meetings (top reps at 4x). AE ramp time dropped by more than half. The system pulls context live from Salesforce, Gong, and LinkedIn on demand rather than pre loading a repo. Reps build their own skills and automations in natural language: 500+ skills and 1,000+ automations created by the sales team, not engineering. The SDR manager's onboarding rule: use only ChatGTM, Nooks, and LinkedIn. Nothing else.

Read more here | The Signal Club

🔧 Profound Built a Revenue Intelligence Platform in Under Two Months

Edgar Sze, Head of GTM Engineering at Profound, built Prophet: a system that auto scores MEDDPICC from call transcripts, writes pre and post call briefs, recomputes portfolio health, and maps every email and Gong call to the right account. Staff engineer shipped v0 in under a week. Next: overnight agents that run deal review across every open opportunity, requalify the whole book, and flag churn before reps wake up. The lesson: build the semantic foundation once and every agent on top gets cheap. Skip it and your workflows quietly disagree with each other.

Read more here | The GTM Engineer

⚡ GTM Engineer Pulse #33: Claude Tag, Clay Audiences, and Zoom Buys Common Room

Six shifts as the GTM stack goes AI native. Claude shipped Tag, an agentic teammate you @mention in Slack (65% of Anthropic's product team code now created by their own version of it). Clay repositioned Audiences as infrastructure, dropping the 50K row limit to search millions. Zoom is acquiring Common Room, folding buyer intelligence into deal rooms. Userled 2.0 ships agents that run ABM from 1:1 to 1:many. Fable 5 is back worldwide. Cohort 5 of GTM Engineer School opens for September.

Read more here | GTM Engineer School

💻 ZoomInfo Shipped a CLI That Puts Verified GTM Data on the Command Line

ZoomInfo released the GTM.AI CLI: an open source, MIT licensed command line client that gives GTM engineers and AI agents direct terminal access to verified data on 100 million companies, 500 million contacts, and billions of buying signals. One binary searches, enriches, pulls intent signals, and runs agentic research. Output streams as JSON or CSV straight into warehouse jobs, CRM updates, or agent workflows. The repo ships with a Claude Code skill built in. Search and lookup commands are free. GTM data is finally a code primitive, not a dashboard you log into.

Read more here | BusinessWire

🔌 ColdIQ Is Replacing the GTM Operator with a Unified API

Michel Lieben built ColdIQ into a $7M ARR agency serving 275+ B2B clients and generating over $50M in revenue. Now he is stepping away to build something bigger: a unified API that connects 39 GTM data providers behind one interface, run entirely through Claude Code. One plain language instruction searches leads, enriches contacts, layers intent signals, drafts messaging, and pushes the finished list to your sequencer. The API ships as an MCP server with 100+ published skills. The real unlock: it encodes the operator knowledge that used to live in one person's head and makes it run on demand.

Read more here | ColdIQ

Remember, if you have friends or colleagues that would enjoy the newsletter, send them over to thegtmstudio.io/newsletter.

That's a wrap for this week folks. Remember, we only want to share insights we can relate to or have experience with. Quality over quantity.

Thanks for reading. See you soon.
