Half the SDR pipeline disappears before It starts.

A rep's commission was defined by which accounts generated the sale. An account in the TAM generated a higher percentage than a non TAM account. It's about focus!</i></p><p style="">Tom Slocum diagnosed an SDR team where <strong>activity was up 30%</strong> but <strong>pipeline hadn't moved</strong>. Out of 180 meetings booked, only 105 actually happened. The fix was structure, not more tools: a 3 question filter (Why this account? Why now? What do I say?), tiered account prioritization, and calendar blocking. Volume dropped by a third, reply rate doubled. For GTM engineers, the 3 question filter is exactly the kind of logic you encode into agent workflows and signal routing. </p><p style=""><a class="underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current" href="https://www.revenuecreator.com/p/where-half-the-sdr-pipeline-disappears" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">Read more here</a> | Revenue Creator</p><hr noshade="" size="1" style="margin-top: 5px;margin-bottom: 5px;" width="100%"><h3 style="">📈 <strong>Half of AI Companies Are Scaling Forward Deployed Engineers as GTM</strong></h3><p style=""><i style="font-style: italic; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; letter-spacing: inherit; color: inherit;">The GTM Studio have two commercial models, GTM Engineering and FDE's. Both equally rewarding, although very different in the execution. Watch for the growth of FDE hires on LinkedIn.</i></p><p style="">ICONIQ's Q2 2026 State of AI report surveyed 305 executives and found 50% are scaling forward deployed engineers as a permanent part of their GTM motion. FDEs are comped like reps: 76% of variable pay is tied to retention and renewal, 74% to upsell and expansion. Enterprise FDE coverage is projected to reach 34% of customers by 2027. The report also found AI forward companies generate 2x net new revenue per FTE and run orgs that are 9x flatter. The next GTM hire is not another SDR. It is a builder.</p><p style=""><a class="underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current" href="https://www.saastr.com/the-builders-economy-10-metrics-from-iconiqs-newest-2026-state-of-ai-report/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">Read more here</a> | SaaStr / ICONIQ Growth</p><hr noshade="" size="1" style="margin-top: 5px;margin-bottom: 5px;" width="100%"><h3 style="">🔧 <strong>Clay Adds Open Weight Models to Claygent at a Fraction of the Cost</strong></h3><p style=""><i style="font-style: italic; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; letter-spacing: inherit; color: inherit;">Chinese open source models are crushing it. Much to the ire of the US. Simultaneously, the Chinese are considering how to restrict access to open source to the west. Just like Europe, it's heating up!</i></p><p style="">Clay added Kimi K2.6 and GLM 5.2 to Claygent, giving GTM engineers cheaper model options for high volume enrichment and research workflows. The play: reserve frontier models for complex tasks and route simpler enrichment through open weight alternatives at lower cost. For teams running thousands of enrichment rows per week, model routing by task complexity is becoming a core GTM engineering decision.</p><p style=""><a class="underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current" href="https://www.clay.com/blog/open-weight-models-are-now-in-claygent" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">Read more here</a> | Clay</p><hr noshade="" size="1" style="margin-top: 5px;margin-bottom: 5px;" width="100%"><h3 style="">🤖 <strong>CRM Tools Become Surfaces for AI Agents in One Week</strong></h3><p style=""><i style="font-style: italic; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; letter-spacing: inherit; color: inherit;">It's a race to own the application layer. Déjà vu.</i></p><p style="">Microsoft shipped Sales Agent and Service Agent to GA, grounded in live CRM data over MCP. Slack turned Slackbot into an MCP client wired to the full Salesforce platform and 20+ partners. ZoomInfo launched the <a href="http://GTM.AI" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">GTM.AI</a> CLI, putting verified GTM data on the command line with a Claude Code skill included. Reevo acquired Ciro and folded prospecting into its Revenue OS. The theme across all four: tools are becoming surfaces for your agents, not standalone dashboards. Context engineering is the moat.</p><p style=""><a class="underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current" href="https://gtmengineerschool.substack.com/p/the-gtm-engineer-pulse-34" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">Read more here</a> | GTM Engineer School</p><hr noshade="" size="1" style="margin-top: 10px;margin-bottom: 12px;" width="100%"><p style="">📊 <strong>71% of Software Buyers Use AI Chatbots and Only 1% Click Citations</strong></p><p style=""><i style="font-style: italic; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; letter-spacing: inherit; color: inherit;">Software sellers take note....</i></p><p style="">Kevin Indig introduces the AI Visibility Ladder, a measurement framework for answer engine optimization used with Airbnb, Asana, and Xero. The framework separates leading indicators (bot crawls, citation share, share of voice), quality guardrails (shortlist position, sentiment, attribute match), and lagging indicators (self reported attribution, sales call tagging, win rate). For GTM engineers, this is the next instrumentation layer: measuring how AI answers represent your brand and wiring that signal into the revenue system.</p><p style=""><a class="underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current" href="https://www.growthunhinged.com/p/how-to-measure-the-impact-of-ai-search-the-right-way" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">Read more here</a> | Growth Unhinged</p><hr noshade="" size="1" style="margin-top: 5px;margin-bottom: 5px;" width="100%"><p style="">Please, if you have friends or colleagues that would enjoy the newsletter, send them over to <a href="https://thegtmstudio.io/newsletter" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">thegtmstudio.io/newsletter</a><a href="https://thegtmstudio.io/newsletter" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank"><u>.</u></a></p><p style="">That's a wrap for this week folks.
